To get even more speed out of the go-to model for triathlon and time trials, ZIPP goes all-out science with the tubeless version of the 808 Firecrest Disc wheels. Total System Efficiency (TSE) is the name of the innovative design approach that combats the four biggest obstacles of high speeds: air resistance, gravity, rolling resistance and vibratory losses.

Among the components of this concept, which also achieved a significant weight reduction of 325 grams compared to the previous model, is the already proven ABLC Sawtooth™ Dimple Design. With its numerous round dimples, not only this complex pattern ensures maximum aerodynamic efficiency, ZIPP's legendary Firecrest rim shape also has its share and even increases crosswind stability despite 80 mm tread height.

In conjunction with tubeless technology and 23 mm jaw width, the hookless rim flanges allow driving wider tires and with lower pressure - for less rolling resistance and better cornering grip. Especially in triathlon, this smoother ride makes itself felt positively by sparing the legs for the subsequent run. The highest speeds achieve the ZIPP 808 Firecrest Disc wheels with 28 mm wide tires. Despite the tubeless optimization, it is possible to use tubeless tires in combination with an inner tube.

The ZR1 DB hubs developed in Germany are not only characterized by reliability and long durability, they also give the ZIPP 808 wheels a spontaneous response. Thanks to their orientation to disc brakes, reliable speed control and adequate braking power are guaranteed in all weather conditions.
